It is now Thursday morning [well actually it's noon, but whatever], the day of Arts County Fair. It's this concert they put on every year on the last day of school. This year Moist, The Watchmen, Danko Jones, Gob, and the Rascalz are playing. The tickets are $17.50, and everyone started drinking at 9:30 this morning [it starts at noon] in preparation. I went sober last year and it wasn't that great, even though the Odds [a semi-okay Vancouver band] and the Planet Smashers [a decent ska band] played. This year I don't like any of the bands, and I hate Gob. Also, I've been really manic depressive lately. So if I went, it would either be really fun, or really terrible, or bits of both. So I'm not going. Today is the first day in like 10 billion years when I don't actually have to do anything. So I'm gonna walk around in the sunshine, maybe go to the beach, buy some cassette tapes and candy, read a book, or anything else that doesn't involve thought or work of any sort. I really need a day for myself. I think later on today Myra and I might go to see a movie. Other than that, I am absolutely free, at least for one day.
I am an absolute mp3 addict. I have been since I started in November. Since music is my religion, Napster is truly an instrument of God. I've got 400 mp3s on my 2.1 gig hard drive, and also three cds packed full of them. Favourite stuff I've downloaded lately? Neutral Milk Hotel, the Reverend Horton Heat, and Atom and his Package.
I'm damn hungry. I wonder if there's enough milk for me to have some granola.
It feels really good to get back into the writing thing.
