Violent Femmes concert in two days. Still don't know who I'm going with. I've never been to a concert alone before. I've seen the Femmes before, and even in the same venue as this concert. Larissa has gone to a few concerts by herself. It should be fine, as long as I get a ride home. That might be exciting, in fact.
Ask Nick changed their name to Sacre Bleu, and then again to P:ano. They have a web site. I can't find the URL right now. Maybe it's on Larissa's page. They had a concert on the 19th, which I took the evening off to go and see. Aside from various technical difficulties, including a very ungrateful show-stealing opening band and the cops showing up, it was wonderful. I taped it, and it was a lot darker. The colours were beautiful, and the music just gets exponentially better every time. Plus, a guy from The Radio, an extremely cool local band, showed up, and stayed afterwards talking to Nick about how great it was. Woohoo. Destined for greatness.
I had a delightful past two days at work. I've been working with my two favourite employees at Graham's store, Ashley and Marley. Graham hasn't been around and we get to chat as much as we want. There isn't a whole lot to do except wait around for customers. I hate my job. I'm working every day this week. But it's no so bad if there are likeable people around to hate it with. And Ashley is such a cool kid. And she is beautiful. Sigh. And I like Marley because I don't even have to do anything and she'll find me funny. She's like my friend Ian from UBC; everything I do amuses her, like I'm one big joke. It's cool. And yesterday we ordered pizza. Damn I love pizza. I never realized how much I missed it until I stopped working at Me N Eds.
Oh my god. I'm going to have I Want It That Way (by our wonderful friends the Backstreet Boys) permanently embedded in my brain. When I'm 98 and incapcitated, I'll be sitting in my little wheelchair grasping onto the corners of my afghan, rocking back and forth, my eyes totally vacant, singing under my breath, "You are.. my fiiire.. my one... desiiire....." and then, "Ain't nothing but a heartache, ain't nothing but a mistake. (Tell me why) I never want to hear you say, I want it thaaaat way..." What the hell is that song about, anyway? Somebody please tell me, because it makes no sense to me at all.
I hanged out with Larissa and Nick and Patrick tonight. We watched Bottle Rocket, done by Wes Anderson, the same guy who did Rushmore. It was funny funny stuff. We had a fun evening. We watched videos of P:ano, listened to The Radio, and watched this boys' choir on the Christian channel and laughed until we cried. I am so easily entertained. If I had as many channels as Larissa, I'd never have to leave the house. There is so much stupid funny shit, and the Discovery channel, and movies on Bravo.
what else, what else. I know there's been lots. Larissa got her driver's license today. That's very exciting. I want to go to Brit Pop night at least once before my birthday. I do miss it so. Oh yeah, and I'm so excited about my birthday. And I saw Phantom Menace again. I love love love love love Star Wars to pieces. And Ewan McGregor really does something for me. Not quite up there with Keanu, but almost. He's cooler than Keanu, and a better actor. I just about spelled that "acter." I think I like that way better. Sometime I get a kick out of speling things rong.
Clint, Larissa, and Clint's friend Leon and I went to this SFU Education student's house to help him with a project. This was about a week and a half ago. We read a story and then had to answer questions about it. We had a ball. It was all videotaped, and he gave us Sesame Snaps and Tang while we discussed. And we each got a six-pack of beer out of the deal. I gave mine to my brother. Don't tell Mom and Dad.
I'm wearing an acrylic sweater, if that makes you feel any better.
oh my god, I saw this guy downtown the other day, and he had a shirt that said, in Latin, "If you can read this, you have learned Latin." I was so excited. Unfortunately I didn't realize what it said until I was halfway down the block, otherwise I would've stopped him. It was soooo exciting. I am definitely going to get a shirt like that one day.
Speaking of shirt ideas, a woman dropped off a really good psycho Christian pamphlet the other day. Here's a sample:
I have Pod Racer on my computer now. Fun game. And I also have the text RPG of Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. yaaay.
Clint and I came to the conclusion that geeks are cool.
Et c'est tout.
