Got a new roll of film developed.... that's always fun. I got all my pictures back from the Bay Area, and realized I didn't take pictures of anything important the whole time I was there. There's one of someone's abdomen because I fucked it up, and a couple group shots that are boring unless you know the people, and one of me and some friends on the Berkeley campus. But nothing of San Francisco. Nothing of Alameda, Oakland, or all the places we went to in Berkeley, or of any of the fun people that were my age that I met when I was there. New York pictures will be better, I promise.

My trip to the Bay Area was fabulous, by the way. Fun times were had, there were adventures, there were exciting and interesting and cool people, the food was good, the weather was spectacular, and I wish I'd been there for more than five days. It made me realize how fucking small Vancouver is. It brought things into perspective.

The guy who got convicted of bigamy was named Tom Green, which was pretty funny. But I think that whole thing is stupid, and it makes me mad. If you want to marry more than one person, and everyone's consenting, who the fuck cares?

My favourite episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation was on tonight. It's the one where the crew gets a disease that makes everyone de-evolve. Sooooo funny. I love Counsellor Troi in the bathtub, and Barclay in Engineering, with all the cobwebs. It's a classic.

Summer has arrived. It's been hot outside, and the sun doesn't set until super late, and it's gorgeous. I've been pretty depressed since I came back from the Bay Area, because I've been stuck in Coquitlam with nothing to do, eating and watching TV and playing with our new cable modem (though I don't have it on my own computer) and gaining weight. I've gained somewhere between five and ten pounds since I got back. Ugh. But today I went for a walk in Mundy Park at 8pm and it was still light out, and there were people running, and it felt really good. It was relaxing, and it gave me some blank alone thinking time. I realized that I usually get that time when I'm on the bus. I listened to Devo on my headphones. Yesss. I walked the perimeter of the park, which is about 4 kilometres. I'd like to do it again sometime. It was great.

I finally rented the Breakfast Club. I've been wanting to see it for at least two years now, because I couldn't really remember it. It was good... I was still in an emotional depressed state, and it made me cry. I realized that I think Molly Ringwald is hot. I like her lips.

I'd make out with her.

A cute girl came into Starbucks today. She was wearing a pink golf shirt, had kinda spiky brown hair and black rimmed glasses, and seemed somewhat quirky. Yum. She made me all flustered, and I forgot her drink momentarily. It was a tall coffee frappucino. ... I hope she comes in again.

Tynan works at Starbucks now, too. He has two jobs. The other one is washing dishes at the Boathouse. He's pretty busy, but his mom has also lent him her Isuzu Trooper for the remainder of the bus strike (which looks like it might carry on all summer). So although gas is stupidly expensive, it's cool he has transportation. I hope they win the strike soon. I don't care what's going on in September; I'm moving to Commercial Drive. I need to get out of Coquit-slum.

Things with Tynan are good... I love him to pieces. When we hang out with other people, I realize what nerds we are, and I love it. I love that he talks endlessly about music theory, and that we get in half-hour arguments about word definitions.

We went to see Pollock a while ago. It was really interesting. They showed him painting a lot, and the acting was really good. It was a very quiet, understated movie. Part of it took place in New York, and it made me superexcited. I'll get to see an actual Jackson Pollock painting in real life! My dad bought me a book all about New York, and I've found all kinds of things I want to do. I realize I won't have tons of time, so I've limited it to at least seeing one modern art museum, going to Central Park, and eating at one Jewish deli. We're going from June 13th to the 22nd and I can't wait.

There are lots of things I could talk about, but let's skip to the pictures.

These were both taken in Tynan's room. It was after the Hot Water Music show. On the left, that's Jason, Shandra, and Noel, and on the right is Jason and his longboard. These are Langley kids - Jason and Noel are old friends of Tynan. Shandra is Noel's friend. She likes Iron Maiden a whole lot, and she reminds me of Vanessa King. I miss Vanessa.

Ahhh, the Locust. See previous entry for details.

I forgot about this until I got my pictures back. This was probably during exams, because stuff like this tends to happen during exams. The pictures were taken in the Buchanan building, which is the main Arts building. Tynan and I were walking down the hall when I found this orange tinselly thing, so I wrapped it around my fist and wielded it as my "Fist of Fire." I got Tynan to take a picture of my Fist Pose, and the other picture is me using the Fist on Tynan. Exam time makes you crazy. It makes you extra crazy when the buses are on strike and you have to ride your bike to school from Vine and 41st from your aunt's place. Actually, that became fun after a while. I probably need more exercise.

These are my favourite. Some of us were hanging around the Berkeley campus waiting for a friend, and we decided to go into the Natural History building, or whatever it was, and they had dinosaur fossils. As an act of boredom we had a little photo shoot starring me and the T Rex or Allosaurus, or whatever it was. Tynan's a pretty good photographer, and I'm a horrible actor, so they turned out well.
