Whenever I'm selling communist newspapers, people are always like, "Oh, I have to pay 50 cents for this? I thought you didn't believe in money."
That is an ultimately liberal, moralist view of politics. Of course we still live in a capitalist society. We can't just imagine, wish, or will it away. Just because I don't believe in money doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that I am exempt from its rules. It takes a revolution to get rid of it.
People also comment on the fact that I'm wearing Puma shoes. "Sweatshop labor." Again, sweatshop labor is part of capitalism. there is no such thing as nice, friendly capitalism devoid of racism, war, exploitation and poverty. those things are part of it. I'm not about moral abstention, about feeling good about myself because a poor, starving exploited person didn't make my shoes. They'd still be making someone else's shoes. Boycott politics are a dead end.
And if you don't think GWAR are misogynist, racist rednecks, are you fucking crazy?
And yes, makeoutclub is completely shallow.
